Some specimens also show small green patches of Malachite. With a hardness of 6 to 7, the Granite matrix is sturdy and easy to work, while the softer Azurite spots sit in the surface like natural ink. The stone is found exclusively in the rubble at the foot of the K2 mountain in Pakistan.
